What Is PM Vishwakarma Yojana:

The PM Vishwakarma Yojana, officially known as the Prime Minister Vishwakarma Skill Honor (PM VIKAS), was initiated by the Central government on September 17, 2023. Administered by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), this program is designed to empower traditional artisans and craftspeople by providing comprehensive support.


PM Vishwakarma Yojana Eligibility Criteria:

Artisans and craftspeople aged 18 and above, engaged in self-employment within the unorganised sector, are eligible for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.


PM Vishwakarma Yojana Documents Required for Application:

To apply for the vishwakarma scheme, applicants need the following documents:

  • Aadhar Card

  • Voter Identity Card

  • Proof of Occupation

  • Mobile Number

  • Bank Account Details

  • Income Certificate

  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)


Benefits of PM Vishwakarma Yojana:


  1. Skill Development: Eligible beneficiaries receive basic training for five to seven days, along with advanced training lasting 15 days or more. They are also entitled to a stipend of Rs. 500 per day during training.
  2. Toolkit Incentive: At the onset of Basic Skill Training, artisans receive a toolkit incentive of up to Rs. 15,000 in the form of e-vouchers.
  3. Enterprise Development Loans: The program offers collateral-free 'Enterprise Development Loans' of up to Rs. 3 lakh, disbursed in two tranches of Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 2 lakh. These loans are extended with repayment periods of 18 months and 30 months, each carrying a preferential interest rate of 5%.
  4. Certification and ID Card: Successful applicants are provided with a PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card, adding credibility to their skills and trade.
